This blog will be your one-stop-shop for weekly class notices and information. These notices will be up by Sunday evening each week. There will also be additional posts to show you some of the exciting things we are doing in class during the week.
I am sure you and your children are both excited and a little nervous about starting a new school year in a new class. A lot of effort has gone into setting up the classroom space to help make this transition as smooth as possible. There will be familiar class items and new items to explore - just as there will be familiar friends and new friends to meet.
A little bit about me...
I am from Rotorua and attended both St. Mary's Primary and St. Michael's Primary. Four generations of my family (on my mother's side) have attended St. Mary's. My nana was a foundation student (in 1924 when the school opened on this site), my mum (along with her brothers and sister) also attended, I attended and so did my son (who is now in his last year at Otago University). I have been teaching for 16 years and have been at St. Mary's since 2009 - I definitely feel like part of the furniture.
I love being able to spend time with friends, reading books and feeling the sand between my toes at the beach in Pauanui. My family has had a bach there for almost 40 years and it's my home away from home.
